    The Census of Population and Housing was conducted for the first time in 1985, and then in 1995. It was conducted by the Lao Statistics Bureau in cooperation with every province and department, and was supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

    The Census of Population and Housing 1995 highlights the main characteristics of the population in Lao PDR at the time of the Census.
