    The Labor Force and Child Labor Survey 2010 in Lao PDR provides data on the labor situation in Lao PDR, including the health and safety issues of working children (10-17 years old).

    The scope of the Labor Force and Child Labor Survey 2010 in Lao PDR includes:
    HOUSEHOLD Questionnaire: Household characteristics, household listing, education, current activity status, employment, unemployment/underemployment, unpaid household services, child labour, housing and household characteristics including water and sanitation, migration, trafficking.

    Sampling

    Sampling Procedure

    Proposed sampling procedure:
    A two-stage stratified sampling design is suggested for the Labor Force Survey (LFS), including a Child Labor Module, to be conducted during October 2010.
    First stage units (FSUs) will be village. 540 FSUs will be surveyed, 17 provinces and 142 districts.
    Second Stage Units (SSUs) will be households. In all, 10,800 households will be selected, 20 households from each FSU.

    (Please see manual of survey in Lao, page 2 and 12).

    Sample weights are not included in the datasets.
